Five Fun and Easy Date Night Ideas for Staying In

Spritz
Top 5 Date Night Ideas for a Creative Stay-at-Home Adventure

Hey there, lovebirds! 🕊️ If you’re looking for easy ways to make date nights exciting without stepping out of the house, I've got some fantastic ideas for you. Let's dive into five creative and romantic date night ideas that'll make you fall in love with staying in again.

Cute pink neon sign that reads, "sushi time, sushi love" featuring a heart in place of the 'o'

Who needs a fancy restaurant when you can roll your own sushi at home? Get yourself a sushi board, some fresh ingredients, and a bottle of sake. The fun part is the process of making sushi together – it’s intimate, messy, and ends deliciously with warm, full bellies. Last weekend, Pyro and I set up our kitchen as a mini sushi bar, complete with one of our favorite genres—Tokyo Lofi— playing in the background. We talked about everything and nothing in our little kitchen, which ended up creating great, unseen obstacles to rolling sushi. It was definitely a night to remember!

If rolling your own sushi sounds like more effort or mess than you want to sign up for though, don’t worry I still have an idea for you. Skip the homemade meal and just enjoy decorating your space while you wait for the sushi to be delivered. That little bit of effort really goes a long way, so don’t overthink it! Light those candles you’ve been holding on to, bring out your chopsticks and Custom Fractal Burned Sushi Board, listen to whatever playlist you want, and get that sake warmed up. You’ll be so proud of your presentation that you’ll be immediately looking forward to planning this night again!

A man getting ready to play video games, holding two xbox controllers

Ready to bring out your competitive side? Surprise them with some Customizable Controller Faces and gear up for a night of gaming. Whether you're into co-op games or friendly competitions, playing video games together is a blast. Pyro and I have a couple of console games that we play together pretty frequently, but we always try to keep our eyes out for other options to explore. Even if the game doesn’t click for both of you, you’re bound to have some unexpected fun and a memorable night. To really bring the heat, don’t forget to make a wager for something that you either really want to win or won’t want to lose to!

It was around the same time that we started running our own business, back then I really wanted to get better at Super Smash Brothers because Pyro, his brother, cousin, and a bunch of our friends had a lot more experience. So, Pyro proposed that whenever we had an argument or something that we needed to decide on, we would have a Smash Bros battle! Honestly, it was a pretty effective training method and I had a way better grasp on the game. Now whenever someone pulls out their mains, I have two that I can rely on, even if it is just to lose epically.

Unleash your inner artists, get a buzz-of-your-choice going and create a masterpiece together! Set up a painting station with Mario Question Block Pen Holders as a surprise and keep your date organized and fun. Choose a memorable scene from one of your favorite movies or shows and paint it side by side. Pyro and I get to paint beside each other a lot and there’s never a time that I don’t have a sudden moment that I just stop and take it all in; the music, the progress, having his company and Chopper’s.

Getting lost to something fun and creative is wonderful when you come back to someone enjoying their time and space just as much with you. Even if you have really different styles, don’t be afraid to try something new! Have you heard of the saying, “a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work,” before? I think painting is one of those activities that can easily be better, even if you don’t end up creating what you expected. I don’t care if you think you can or can’t paint, go live or relive your best 90’s moment, set up a canvas with paint balloons, and make an aesthetic, epic mess to hang in the center of your home. Our pen holder will be ready with your markers for you guys to sign your memorable masterpiece!

Transform your living room into your own personal movie theater for a night and get ready to binge your favorite series! Whether you want to go the extra mile and build a cozy fort with all of the blankets and pillows or blow up a mattress to just enjoy a night of pure relaxation. Forget about the lights that already exist in your house and collect all of the flickering or twinkling lights that you want in your theater. Hang up nostalgic or popular anime wall art from Kistune Masks to solid wood Gaming Art to really amplify the thoughtful, romantic ambience. Plan complimentary snacks or a meal for your anime and make sure your space is set for optimal reach and lounging.

Our weekly date night pretty much goes one of two ways: playing video games together or catching up on anime. We always start our night with our Stash Box, but every once in a while, I’ll bring out our hot sake set too for special series or a little celebration. When a bunch of our shows are actively releasing new episodes, we love to dedicate our night to ordering dumplings, baos, or making our own ramen from scratch and setting up the living room! Some of you might already know this, but Pyro was a chef for 15 years and his homemade ramen is ridiculous. From the noodles to the broth and toppings, he’s making it all by hand and it smells heavenly!

5. Grazing Spread and Private Concert/Rave

Set up a grazing table with your favorite-to-eat snacks, some exquisite Live Edge Serving Trays, and a little variety of drinks. Turn up your favorite music, set up your queue and throw yourselves a private concert—or rave—at home. We haven’t been able to plan a concert or rave in a few years, but when we have that itch, we just decide to throw our own at home. With snacks galore, we danced, goofed around and just enjoyed the night inside and out with Chopper right behind us in excitement. Every blue moon we even break out some gear and have our hand at different light shows. Pyro once again has the upper hand in this experience because wow does he have some crazy performance skills! You didn’t hear that from me though 🤫

Instead of falling to the rave blues, enjoying our own personal concert might just be the spontaneous (and convenient) cure you didn’t realize you needed!

There you have it – five incredible date night ideas that you can easily enjoy without leaving the comfort of your home. So, get creative, make your space special, and cherish these moments together. Staying in has never been this exciting! 💖
